It has a semi-gloss finish, and is bound with an adjustable hand-braided cord.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe hei matau was carved by Yuki Tanaka from pipiwharauroa pounamu sourced from Arahura \u003cspan\u003eof Te Wai Pounamu, Aotearoa.\u003c\/span\u003e It measures 110mm by 52mm.
