With expertise and power the carver wields the adze. Relied on for survival in ancient times, traditional tools are imbued with significance and meaning. The toki epitomises the artistry and skill of the craftsman, protector and provider. Of great mana (prestige), to wield the toki is to wield strength.

This hei toki was carved by Sam Potter from white rind Kahurangi pounamu sourced from Marsden of Te Wai Pounamu, Aotearoa.  , and was capped with 9ct gold by our master jeweller, John Mayo. It measures 80mm by 25mm has a semi-gloss finish and is hung on a gold-plated chain.
